Academy Sports Rundown: 21st March 2025

This week the theme was variety as we saw a range of different sports played across the board, including indoor cricket, hockey, netball and basketball. Here’s how they got on:

A run to the finals for the Under 13’s Indoor Cricket Team

Last week the U13s indoor cricket team travelled to Somerset Cricket Club for the County Cup finals. We played Bishop's Fox School in the semi finals and the boys set a good mark of 66 runs for them to beat.

Unfortunately, this wasn't quite enough to take us through to the finals despite taking five wickets. We then moved to the third place playoff game against Backwell School. The boys played some fantastic cricket throughout the tournament and finished 4th in the county, which is an outstanding achievement.

We all left in good spirits and look forward to the outdoor cricket season next term!

Year 10 Girls come home in 8th place at the North Somerset Netball Tournament

Our Year 10 Netball team brought home a respectable 8th place in a tournament facing nine other North Somerset schools. Player of the tournament was handed to Sienna for her impressive skills and determination throughout.

The team is eager for the rematches against Priory and Hans Price before the Easter break. We can’t wait to watch the games!

KS4 Basketball Teams are victorious against Priory

In a thrilling basketball game against Priory School, our KS4 basketball team brought home a fantastic 42-31 victory.  It is incredible to see their development over the season. Well done!
