How to apply

External Students

If you are joining us from another school, you are not alone! We have many students who join us from other schools, and we look forward to welcoming you to the Academy as a Churchill Student.

Churchill Students

If you're a current Churchill Academy Year 11 student, you have been emailed a personalised link to begin your application. Please check your Academy inbox for information. If you have not received the email, please speak with Ms Sheppard or Mrs Thompson.

Application Deadlines & Important Notes

For applications submitted after Monday 6th January:

The early bird submission deadline has now passed. We are still accepting applications, but the option blocks have now been finalised (see below), so applicants will need to select their preferred subjects from the available pre-set options.

Some subjects/classes are full and we are running a waiting list for these. Please feel free to apply for these subjects, and we can discuss this as part of your interview.

Please note, if you have already been interviewed and your chosen subject combination cannot be accommodated due to timetabling constraints, we will contact you to discuss suitable alternatives.

Entry Requirements

Students wishing to study an Advanced Level or other Level 3 course at Churchill Sixth Form need a minimum of 3 GCSE passes at grade 5 and 2 GCSE passes at grade 4, or above. Individual subjects have specific entry requirements which are listed on the Subject pages.

Subject Choices

We offer over 30 different courses in Sixth Form including A Levels, BTECs and CTECs.

Key Dates for Applicants – 2025 Entry

Thursday 17th October 2024: Sixth Form Open Evening
Thursday 17th October 2024: Applications Open for 2025 Entry
Tuesday 19th November 2024: Be a Sixth Former for a Day (Churchill Year 11 students)
Monday 25th November 2024: Sixth Form Interviews – will commence from 25 November 2024 and will continue through to the Spring Terms.
Monday 6th January 2025: Early Bird Application Deadline – submit your application on or before 6 January 2025 and we will endeavour to accommodate your subject choices, although we cannot guarantee all subject combinations. Late applications will still be considered, but subjects may be full and there may be reduced choice in terms of subject combinations.
Thursday 26th June 2025: Sixth Form Induction Day – Once your exams have finished, join us for Induction Day where you will get to have sample lessons in the subjects you have applied for and start preparing to be a Churchill Sixth Former.
