Churchill Chess Teams Shine at Millfield Tournament

On Tuesday 11th March, the Academy Chess Club showcased its talent at the Millfield Chess Tournament, entering two strong teams in a competitive field of eight. Churchill Team A secured an impressive second-place finish, while Churchill Team B followed closely in third.

The squad, consisting of Gigi, Tom, Bryn, Adam, Isaac, Edward, Dennis, and Tomos, displayed excellent strategic skills and determination throughout the tournament. Adding to the club’s success, Mr. Skeen participated in the battle of teachers and emerged victorious!

Churchill’s Chess Club continues to thrive, meeting every Tuesday lunchtime in W6 under Mr. Skeen’s guidance. New members are always welcome to join and sharpen their skills.
