SAVE THE DATE: Everyone's Invited: Parents Talk online webinar, Wednesday 30th of April, 6 pm

Families are invited to join the Everyone's Invited: Parents Talk webinar on Wednesday 30th of April at 6pm.

The Academy is committed to fostering a safe and informed environment for our students. As part of this ongoing commitment, we are delighted to invite all parents to an essential online talk on Tuesday 30th April, at 6pm. This session aims to equip parents with the knowledge and tools necessary to navigate the complex issues our children may encounter in their daily lives, both online and offline.

The talk will delve into critical topics such as gendered pressures, online misogyny, and the concerning rise in violent sexual content, providing parents with practical strategies for engaging in meaningful conversations with their children. You can find more information about the organisation Everyone's Invited here.

Families are asked to save the date and a link to join the call will be sent closer to the date.

Our partnership with Everyone’s Invited

We have been working closely with Everyone's Invited for the past four years, implementing a carefully designed programme of study across all year groups to address these vital issues. Our students in Years 8-13 have participated in assemblies led by the Everyone's Invited team, followed by comprehensive PSHE lessons focusing on gendered pressures, online misogyny, and related subjects.

Furthermore, all our staff have undergone extensive training, dedicating half a day to understanding and addressing these challenges. This year, we are particularly proud of our Year 12 students, who are participating in the Community Champions project. These students will be taking a proactive role, leading a crucial lesson with our Year 7 students, fostering peer-to-peer education and support. We believe that open dialogue and education are essential in creating a safer and more informed community for our students. We encourage all parents to attend this important online event.
