M Stars Musical Theatre Competition: Winners Revealed!

The event kicked off with our fantastic hosts, Betty, Max, and Mads, who set the tone for the night with their hilarious (and often groan-worthy!) jokes and larger-than-life stage presence. They truly knew how to keep the energy high and the audience laughing, and they were the perfect start to an evening that would highlight some of the most remarkable talent in musical theatre.

The evening continued with an inspiring opening number, "You Will Be Found", arranged by the brilliant Ash. This beautiful and powerful song resonated with everyone in the room, setting the stage for the talent that was about to unfold.

As the performances continued, the competition was fierce, but the winners truly shone. A huge congratulations to all the award recipients!

Superstar Winners: Anna and Mia
The spotlight was on Anna and Mia as they were crowned the Superstars of the competition. Their incredible performance, passion, and chemistry on stage earned them this top honour. Their dedication to their craft was evident and they thoroughly deserved this prestigious award.

Rising Star & Audience Award Winners: Billy, Joe and Joey
The Rising Stars award went to Billy, Joe and Joey, whose collective energy and stage presence blew the judges away. Not only did they win this coveted award, but they also took home the Audience Award, which is a true testament to the support and admiration they earned from the crowd.

Dance Star: Leah, Mati and Flo
The sensational trio of Leah, Mati and Flo claimed the Dance Star award. Their dynamic and synchronised dance routine left everyone in awe, showcasing their impressive talent and teamwork. Their performance was a highlight of the evening!

Acting Star: Will
Will earned the Acting Star award for his captivating portrayal of a complex character. His emotional depth and nuanced performance left the audience spellbound. Will’s commitment to his craft truly set him apart as one of the top talents of the night.

Group Star: The Year 7 Dance Club
The Group Star award went to the Year 7 Dance Club, whose lively and energetic performance had the crowd cheering. Their unity, teamwork and infectious enthusiasm were a true testament to their hard work and dedication.

Singing Star: Maisie
Maisie took home the Singing Star award for her stunning vocal performance. Her powerful voice and stage presence had everyone captivated and she undoubtedly earned this well-deserved recognition for her outstanding talent.

Music Star: YUNC (The Band)
The Music Star award went to the band YUNC, whose live music performance had the audience on their feet. Their skillful musicianship and vibrant energy elevated the entire evening, making them the perfect recipients of this award.

We were also thrilled to have alumni Lorin (from the Bristol School of Acting) and Tia join us as judges. Their insightful feedback and praise for the performances demonstrated the incredible talent on display. Both Lorin and Tia were deeply impressed by the standard of talent and the creativity in the room, celebrating the amazing work happening at the Academy.

The evening was not just about the competition – it was a true celebration of the talent, the family we’ve created at Churchill, and the unwavering support from our school community. From the teaching staff who nurture and inspire to the parents and friends who offer their endless encouragement, we are incredibly fortunate to have such a supportive and dedicated network.

Looking ahead, we are already excited for next year when we take on the challenge of Legally Blonde! With the talent we have and the support from our amazing community, we know we will deliver the very best we have to offer.
