Ex-Churchill Student and Professional Dancer returns to Churchill to lead

On Monday 22nd January, groups of dance students took part in workshops led by ex-Churchill student and professional dancer, Liam Hill.

On Monday 22nd January, groups of dance students took part in workshops led by ex-Churchill student and professional dancer, Liam Hill.

Liam trained with Rambert, a contemporary dance company, after leaving Churchill and now works in London as a freelance movement artist, specialising in dance, fashion and illustration.

Our Year 11 BTEC Dance students took part in workshops that challenged them with choreographic tasks designed to support them with their current coursework and develop their creativity skills further.

Our new Year 9 Dance Company was treated to a short dance session at lunchtime. The students visibly  enjoyed the session and we hope it will inspire them to continue with their dance training.

The final workshop of the day gave Year 13 dancers Oli Harris, Mair Gibbs and Erin Clark a chance to take part in a technique class. The workshop was a brilliant experience for the students to get feedback on their formations plus advice on how to develop and enhance their skills, as well as learn new movement material.

In each workshop Liam led a question and answer session, which gave the students a chance to get real insights into the dance industry and the opportunities available to them.

Thank you so much to Liam Hill for coming back to Churchill to work with the students. It was an extremely valuable day for us all.
