Springboard Future Chef 2024 Regional Round
Year 11 student Annabelle Isgrove, showcased her culinary prowess at the regional round of the Springboard Future Chef 2024 competition, held on 15th January.
Guiding her throughout this journey was Dominic Woodiwiss, the head chef at Butcombe's Ostrich pub in Bristol. Dominic played a significant role as Annabelle's mentor, providing her with 1:1 preparation sessions and supporting her at the competition.
It was evident that during the event their diligent preparation paid off. Annabelle demonstrated her impressively high-level of technical skills. She was given a tight timeframe of 90 minutes to produce two portions each of two different courses, with a limited budget of just £9.00.
Despite not winning this round, Annabelle's dishes were of superb quality. Her exceptional effort coupled with her composed demeanour in an intense, high-pressure environment deserves commendation. It's evident that she has a bright future ahead in the culinary world.
