HE+ Programme Resumes with Inspiring Day of Academic Challenges

This week, fifteen of our students participated in the HE+ programme, which aims to support students with aspirations to attend the University of Cambridge and other research-intensive universities.
Funded by Cambridge University, the HE+ programme is designed to offer students with academic potential the opportunity to develop the skills and knowledge necessary to make competitive applications to top-tier universities.
The HE+ programme featured a series of thought-provoking exercises designed to stretch their abilities, including tackling questions from the Thinking Skills Assessment (a key part of Oxford University’s admissions process).
Around 10 schools from the Southwest attended the event, marking the continuation of this valuable initiative. This encouraged our students to collaborate with new peers in group tasks, engage in stimulating discussions and tackle problem-solving activities.
Students received guidance on navigating the admissions process and have been tasked to prepare a topic based on their supercurricular reading to share at the next meeting scheduled for March. The aim is to encourage deeper exploration of subjects beyond the classroom and foster academic curiosity.
Thanks to Kings of Wessex School for hosting the event.
We look forward to seeing the student's progress at the next gathering in March!
