A Level Results 2023

Staff at Churchill Academy & Sixth Form are delighted with the results of their students who have shown great resilience and determination to achieve such strong outcomes.

It’s part of the aim at Sixth Form to equip our students for life beyond Churchill, and the past few years has shown this is more important than ever. Kindness, curiosity and determination might be the values of the Academy, but they also shine through in this cohort who have weathered the disruption of the last few years and still been able to achieve fantastic results.

Stan Hemmings achieved 4 A* and will be going on to study Mathematics at Durham University. “I’m really pleased, and looking forward to starting at University.” Stan said.

James Dams and Dan Winterton both achieved 3 A* and 1 A and will be going to Warwick to study Computer Science and Mathematics. Peter Skeen, also achieving 3 A* and 1 A will be going to Cambridge to study Engineering.

Congratulations also go to Callum Bonetti, Emma Cekaj, Reuben Dean, Haydn Greaves, Levi Gunyits, Maisie Holland, Lily Murphy, Anna Papasouliotis, Finlay Perham, Alex Phillips, Charlotte Smith, and Jwala Vincent who all achieved three A or A* grades in their A Levels.

We’re thrilled that the majority of Churchill students have been successful in gaining places at their chosen destinations, despite the increased competition on university places this year. Alongside academic study routes, students are also taking up apprenticeships, and other training opportunities, as well as gap years that serve to build their experience before taking their next steps.

Some of the courses students have taken up include Chemical Engineering, Sport and Exercise Science, Geophysics, Popular Music Performance and Songwriting, Medicine, Midwifery, Anthropology and Forensic Science.

Headteacher, Chris Hildrew said, “I’m delighted that our Sixth Form students have done so well in their exams. With the unprecedented turmoil surrounding education during the last few years, it’s testament to our students’ resilience and determination that they’ve achieved such fantastic results. They are leaving us to pursue the next stage in their journey on the right pathway for each of them, and we couldn’t be prouder of them.”

We’re pleased to see excellent results in Fine Art, Law, and Economics as well as applied subjects including science and health and social care, demonstrating the breadth of the curriculum on offer at Churchill.
