Academy Sports Rundown: 18th October 2024

KS4 hockey team take home a last-minute win!

The Academy took on Priory in a KS4 girls hockey match, coming away with a 2 - 1 win!  It was a close game with Jenna scoring the first goal ending the first half with a draw, the second half went down to the final ten minutes where Jenna scored again, securing us the win in a tight 1v1 with the goal-keeper. The player of the match was awarded to Alice! Well done girls!

Year 7 test out disc sports!

On Monday afternoon some of our Year 7 students visited St Katherine’s school to take part in a disc sports afternoon. The students got to play games of Frisbee Golf and Ultimate Frisbee. It was a great event for the students to try something different and everybody had a fantastic time!

Year 7’s first rugby tournament!

On Wednesday, our Year 7 Rugby team had their first official outing representing the Academy in the Cheddar RFC Tournament. In a series of six matches, the boys got off to a nervous start but soon found their feet securing three wins and three draws. Their exceptional rugby playing was enough to finish joint first place with the Blue School – what an excellent start to the Year 7 Rugby Campaign!

A big thank you to all the parents who also came out to watch the tournament in adverse conditions!
