A Level Students Solve Food Production Problems for the Chelsea Bun
Our Year 13 Food Science & Nutrition students have been hard at work this week, putting their culinary and problem-solving skills to the test as part of their Unit 3 mock exam: Experimenting to Solve Food Production Problems. The focus of their challenge was to improve an artisan Chelsea bun recipe, addressing specific issues with the product’s quality and production.
Throughout the process, students have been busy creating, developing, and testing variations of the traditional sweet treat. Each student made thoughtful recommendations for improvement.
These recommendations will now be passed on to the artisan baker for consideration. The successful project highlights the students’ hands-on approach to learning.
With the mock unit now completed, the Academy looks forward to seeing where these food students will go next. Well done Year 13!
