Students Shine in Musical Theatre Showcase with Bath Academy of Musical Theatre
On Friday, students from Years 10 to 12 experienced a thrilling opportunity when the Bath Academy of Musical Theatre (BAMT) visited. Led by Tim King, Musical Director and Principal of BAMT, and Dan Winter, Head of Acting, students enjoyed a day of performances, expert workshops, and inspiring guidance, which provided an invaluable learning experience for our budding young performers.
The showcase featured a series of musical theatre numbers, ranging from iconic show tunes to lesser-known gems, highlighting the students' talent and dedication to their craft. The performing students—Izzy, Ash, Ceci, Mia, Madison, Max, Ella, Harry, and Ella—earned praise from BAMT's seasoned professionals, who lauded their skill and enthusiasm.
Tim King and Dan Winter shared expert tips and personalised feedback with each performer, allowing students to gain unique insights into vocal technique, stage presence, and the nuances of acting. BAMT's visit reinforces the academy's strong ties to Churchill and dedication to providing valuable industry exposure.
Looking to the future, BAMT is extending its support for young performers with a free workshop for those aged 14-22. This workshop will give participants the chance to work alongside cast members from the hit musicals Heathers and Hamilton, offering a rare opportunity to gain hands-on experience with industry professionals.
With initiatives like these, the collaboration between the school and BAMT promises to continue inspiring the next generation of performers, fostering talent, and supporting the aspirations of students in musical theatre.
