Joey and Senuli wow the judges at the Junior Young Musician of the Year Competition!
Congratulations to all the Year 7 and 8 students who performed in the Junior Young Musician of the Year competition on Thursday evening.
The standard of performance was extremely high, which certainly challenged the judges in their decision-making. There was music for all tastes, ranging from classics like Gerald Finzi’s Forlana to Nina Simone’s Feeling Good. The future is certainly bright, and we are excited about what these performers will produce in the coming months and years.
The competition was won by Joey, Year 8, with a confident, expressive and engaging performance of Finzi’s Forlana on the clarinet. The runner-up was Senuli, Year 8, with a captivating performance of I Set Fire to the Rain by Adele.
Both students will be performing at our Christmas Concert at The Playhouse in Weston-super-Mare on Tuesday 26th November – make sure to secure your tickets before it’s too late!
