Ollie Excels in the UK Shortshall Championships
Ollie Moon, Year 8, represented Avon in the UK Sportshall Championships in Stoke and put in a spectacular performance.
He formed part of the U13 boys team who came second overall in the competition. Ollie's contribution to this team included jumping a massive 2.4m in the standing long jump, a personal best, landing him third place, as well as winning silver in the 2 lap relay.
One write up from the event describes that 'Ollie was handed the baton for the final lap with the possibility of a medal and with great determination closed on the two ahead of him to lunge over the finish line and take second place to ecstatic roars of the crowd'.
