Senior Students take on The Maths Challenge!

On 1st October 2024, 52 students in Years 11, 12 and 13 took part in this year's Senior Maths Challenge, a national problem-solving competition aimed at stretching high attaining mathematicians.

A staggering 79% of our students who entered achieved a bronze, silver, or gold certificate this year. That’s well above the national average!

Congratulations to the four students who achieved a gold certificate: Ross (Year 11), Sam and Hugh (Year 12), and Adam (Year 13).

A special mention must go to Ross, who not only achieved the highest score in the Academy but also scored a maximum score of 125 by answering all of the questions correctly.

Within the Maths Department, we believe this is the first time a Churchill student has achieved the maximum possible score on the Senior Maths Challenge—an outstanding achievement—well done, Ross! Ross has qualified for the British Mathematical Olympiad, which takes place next month.

Well done to all students who took part in this year's Senior Maths Challenge!
