Academy Sports Rundown: 13th December 2024

It was a quieter but eventful week for sports at the Academy. Here’s how they got on: 

Year 9 and 10 Indoor Athletics teams advance to the next round! 

This week, eighteen of our indoor athletics students competed in the first round of the Avon Schools Sports Hall Championships at Bristol Grammar School. They had a successful outing, securing a place in the next round, which is due to take place in February. Well done everyone! 

Year 11 narrowly missed out on second place in Hockey tournament

Our Year 11 girls' team represented the Academy on Wednesday at a hockey tournament held by Clevedon School. Three tight games were played against Clevedon, St Katherines, and Priory School. The Academy narrowly missed out on second place but happily took the bronze. 

Well done to everybody involved, especially those who stepped up to help in the freezing weather conditions!
