A-Level Law students step inside Bristol Magistrates' Court
On Tuesday 8th October, our A-Level Law students experienced an educational day at Bristol Magistrates' Court. The trip provided students with a unique opportunity to see the inner workings of the justice system and witness legal proceedings firsthand.
Throughout the visit, the students observed real court cases, gaining an understanding of how hearings are conducted in cases involving minor offences such as theft and traffic violations. This hands-on experience allowed them to see the theoretical knowledge from their studies live in action.
A highlight of the day was learning about the role of Magistrates, who often serve voluntarily and preside over cases without the need for a jury. The visit gave students a deeper appreciation of the responsibilities and challenges involved in the justice system.
The day proved to be an invaluable experience for all involved, providing a practical insight into the workings of the law and offering students a closer look at the careers they may one day pursue.
