Movember: Growing moustaches and starting important conversations
Five staff members will be participating in the charity event Movember this year. For those who don't know, the aim is to start with a clean-shaven face on November 1st and spend the entirety of the month cultivating a bastion of facial hair—the often maligned moustache. As an added part of the challenge, they will also be running 60km or 60 miles.
Why are they doing it? A bit of fun, of course. However, Movember is a charity which concerns itself with prioritising funding for the four biggest health issues facing men: prostate cancer, testicular cancer, mental health and suicide prevention.
It primarily gives staff an opportunity to talk to students about the reasons for taking on the challenge and the importance of having the conversations that men so often ignore.
We’ll be keeping everybody up to date with the latest moustache progress as the month goes on!
