Cross Country 2023
What a week it has been for Cross Country and our athletes who seized the opportunities to showcase their skills and push themselves to new heights.
We've had some thrilling events take place during the Inter-House race and we’re honoured to announce that Churchill Academy & Sixth Form was named The North Somerset Schools Cross Country Championships winners!
North Somerset Schools Cross Country Championships
The North Somerset Schools Cross Country Championships were a tough challenge for our students, but they didn't let that stop them from excelling. Despite the muddy conditions and the difficult course, our students managed to place in the top five in all six races!
Their impressive efforts and determination led to Churchill securing the 1st place position in the competition. We are incredibly proud of our students for their hard work and dedication, and we are excited to announce that they will be advancing to the Avon and Somerset Cross Country Championships on January 20th. This is an amazing accomplishment and we do not doubt that they will continue to represent Churchill with excellence.
Inter-House Cross Country
Years 7, 8, and 9 competed in our inter-house cross-country race in a bid to earn top points for their house!
Tudor House displayed an impressive performance and secured the first-place position, while Stuart House was not far behind and came in second place. Hanover House showed great determination and achieved third place, followed by Windsor House, which put up an excellent effort. Finally, Lancaster House, though they didn't finish in the top three, still gave a commendable display of their endurance and sportsmanship. It was a fantastic competition, and we are proud of all the participants for their hard work and dedication. Congratulations to Tudor House for their outstanding victory!
