Activities Week
Monday 7th - Friday 11th July 2025
We are excited to launch the 2025 Activities Week programme. Activities Week takes place from the 7th-11th July 2025 for our students in Years 7, 8 and 9.
Activities Week offers your child an opportunity to become involved in a wide range of activities. The activities on offer are educational and enjoyable and can provide new challenges and opportunities for your child to develop the skills gained during their time at Churchill Academy.
Activities Week Programme
Activities Week is one of the cornerstones of our Personal Development Curriculum for students in Years 7 to 9. It allows us to introduce the students to a wide range of extracurricular activities. Each year, we provide a programme of opportunities that stretch and challenge our students, promote the development of individual and interpersonal skills, and help shape broader world attitudes and understanding.
The programme includes an extensive list of activities, many of which occur in the surrounding areas local to Churchill or take the students further afield throughout the UK. Some even see students jet-set to another country!
Many of the activities are free. However, where there is a cost involved, we have done what we can to keep this as low as possible.
Further information about Activities Week and the complete programme can be viewed in the Activities Week booklet here.
Booking Process
This year, we’ve changed the booking process to introduce two booking windows. Students should book two activities only in the first window and the remainder of the activities in the second window.
The first window will be open on Monday 3rd February at 19.00 until Sunday 9th February at 23.59.
Please note: The booking system allows for multiple activity bookings. However, to ensure fair access for all students, any student booking more than two activities may have their bookings adjusted or removed. This will help ensure a broad range of opportunities is available to the entire student body.
Payment for Activities
Payment for activities will be requested from Monday 3rd March and should be paid via ParentPay. The payment deadline is Friday 2nd May.
To ensure all students have a place, students whose activity fees are not paid by the deadline may be removed from the booked activities. In such cases, we will do our best to place them in an available free activity.
Financial Assistance
We work closely with the charity FEES Fund to help support families and students in participating in extracurricular activities. FEES Fund aims to remove financial barriers, support skills development, build confidence and resilience and raise aspirations. Should you need financial assistance, please visit the website for further details.
Students who receive pupil premium may be able to receive help with the cost activities and should contact pupilpremium@churchill-academy.org
Should you have any questions or difficulties during the booking process, please email using the Activities Week email activitiesweek@churchill-academy.org.
Residential Trips and Duke of Edinburgh
Many students have already taken advantage of our residential programme during Activities Week. These students do not need to book other activities.
Mr Waller will coordinate the Bronze Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Expedition and allocate students to the assessed expedition on either 10th and 11th July or 14th and 15th July. Students will need to book activities for the other days.
Residentials 2024-27
Our residential experiences are designed to support our students' personal development by offering unique opportunities both in the UK and abroad.
To help families plan ahead, we’ve included details on trips departing in 2025, along with a preview of those scheduled for 2026/27, with bookings opening in early 2025. Many trips will take place during Activities Week, from 7th to 11th July 2024. The brochure provides all the information about the trips, including cost and how to book. You can download the Residential Prospectus here.
