Performing Arts*

The course offers students the chance to discover all the aspects that make up Performing Arts. As a Production Company you will take part in a large scale musical and develop skill based work in your chosen specialism. This will give you the very best chance of progression into your individual specialist choices or into the industry. You will gain outstanding skills based in Performing Arts with many opportunities for workshops and working with industry professionals providing you with all the skills to either enter the industry directly or for progression on to further specialist training.

Topics & Areas Covered:

Across the two years you will partake in the following units;

  • Unit 1 – Investigating Practitioner’s Work. This unit allows students to develop analytical skills and contextual understanding of how practitioners communicate themes in their work.
  • Unit 2 – Developing Skills and Techniques for Live Performance. Students will explore performance skills with a focus on developing skills and techniques within their specialism.
  • Unit 3 – Group Performance Workshop. In this unit students will work collaboratively to create a performance in response to a given stimulus.
  • Unit 27 – Musical Theatre Techniques. This unit gives students the opportunity to both produce and perform in a musical. They will explore key features of musical theatre whilst developing specialist skills and techniques.

AS/A Level: This course can only be studied as a two year qualification. It cannot be studied as a one year course.
